In meinem letzten Beitrag habe ich alles Notwendige f\u00fcr die Installation von WordPress vorbereitet. Wir erinnern uns: Ein Server wurde gemietet, eine Domain registriert und per Nameserver auf die IP des Servers geleitet. Diese Domain wurde beim Server eingetragen und WordPress per SSH geladen und entpackt. Die sagenumwobene 5-Minuten Installation sp\u00e4ter befinden wir uns im Dashboard von WordPress<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Als SEO wollen wir das System nat\u00fcrlich Fit f\u00fcr die Optimierung<\/strong> machen. Also m\u00fcssen entsprechende Plugins her. In diesem 2. von insgesamt 3 Teilen der WordPress-Reihe werden wir uns mit dem Plugin SEO by Yoast befassen.<\/p>\n

Ein \u00dcberblick<\/h2>\n

Die Installation eines Plugins d\u00fcrfte nicht allzu schwierig sein. Dazu geht es unter der Kategorie „Plugins“ zur entsprechenden \u00dcbersicht von WordPress. Den Plugin-Namen in das Suchfeld eingeben und beim Suchergebnis auf „Installieren“ klicken. WordPress l\u00e4dt das Plugin dann runter und installiert es.<\/p>\n

Danach werden wir erst einmal von einer Warnmeldung begr\u00fc\u00dft.<\/p>\n

Praktisch: SEO by Yoast warnt mich davor, dass Suchmaschinen blockiert sind \u2013 was bei einer neuen WordPress-Installation der Fall sein sollte, bis sie f\u00fcr die \u00d6ffentlichkeit bereit ist.<\/p>\n

St\u00fcrzt sich der geneigte Optimierer nun in die Plugin-Einstellungen, erwartet ihn gleich eine weitere Meldung.<\/p>\n

Das Plugin weist also auf wichtige Probleme hin und schl\u00e4gt L\u00f6sungen vor. Neben solchen Meldungen bietet es auch eine Tour durch die Einstellungen mit Erkl\u00e4rungen. Netter Nebeneffekt<\/strong>: Es ist in deutscher Sprache \u00fcbersetzt. Nicht so nett: Die \u00dcbersetzung ist l\u00fcckenhaft.<\/p>\n

SEO by Yoast hat zudem eine Schnittstelle, um die Seite bei verschiedenen Webmaster Tools \u2013 ja, nicht nur Google hat solche \u2013 zu verifizieren. Dar\u00fcber hinaus k\u00f6nnt Ihr<\/p>\n

  • Meta-Angaben detailliert bearbeiten,<\/li>\n
  • Social Media-Anbindungen hinzuf\u00fcgen,<\/li>\n
  • XML-Sitemaps erstellen,<\/li>\n
  • Permalink-Einstellungen vornehmen,<\/li>\n
  • Breadcrumbs erstellen,<\/li>\n
  • den RSS-Feed angepassen,<\/li>\n
  • txt und .htaccess-Dateien editieren und<\/li>\n
  • Titel sowie Descriptions von mehreren Seiten gleichzeitig \u00e4ndern \u2013 die sogenannten Bulk-Editoren.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Neu sind die integrierten Extensions, welche kostenpflichtig sind und das Plugin um Funktionen wie Video SEO<\/em>, News SEO<\/em>, Post Connector<\/em> f\u00fcr related Posts<\/em> oder Local SEO<\/em> erweitern. Auch die Premium-Version des Plugins l\u00e4sst sich dar\u00fcber nachinstallieren<\/em>. Mit Video SEO k\u00f6nnen beispielsweise auch eingebundene Videos auf Suchmaschinen optimiert werden. So lassen sich Video-Sitemaps anlegen oder schema.org-Daten verwenden. Nat\u00fcrlich werden auch Video-Plattformen wie YouTube und Vimeo unterst\u00fctzt.<\/p>\n

    So viel zu den Einstellungen des Plugins. Wer mehr wissen will, kann daf\u00fcr die angebotene Tour beschreiten.<\/p>\n

    M\u00f6ge die Optimierung beginnen<\/h2>\n

    Der WordPress-DAU hat sich aus den Tiefen der Plugin-Einstellungen empor gek\u00e4mpft und ist hei\u00df darauf, endlich zu optimieren.<\/p>\n

    Wir befinden uns in der Seiten-\u00dcbersicht. Bei der Installation von SEO by Yoast gibt es ein paar neue Elemente. Zum Beispiel mehrere Reiter wie SEO<\/em>, SEO-Titel<\/em>, Meta-Beschreibung<\/em> und Fokus-Stichwort<\/em>. Dazu l\u00e4sst sich diese Ansicht detaillierter nach SEO-Ergebnissen filtern. Das gleiche gibt es \u00fcbrigens auch bei den Artikeln.<\/p>\n

    Je nach angegebenem Fokus-Keyword und Wertigkeit des auf Suchmaschinen abgestimmten Textes sowie angegebenen Meta-Daten leuchtet das kleine graue P\u00fcnktchen unter dem Buzzword \u00bbSEO\u00ab rot oder eben gr\u00fcn. Wichtig<\/strong>: Seite oder Artikel speichern, dann wird die Seiten-Analyse gestartet. Das Plugin \u00fcberpr\u00fcft die Seite, ob sie ausreichend auf das gew\u00fcnschte Keyword optimiert ist.<\/p>\n

    Geht man in die Seiten-Ansicht, erblickt das ge\u00fcbte Auge eine zus\u00e4tzliche Box mit dem wenig \u00fcberraschenden Titel \u00bbWordPress SEO von Yoast\u00ab. Das ist die Stelle, an der wir unsere Stellschrauben drehen und die Seite optimieren.<\/p>\n

    Ich habe mir die Freiheit genommen, das Fokus Keyword \u00bbWordPress\u00ab einzutragen. Wie sich herausstellt, reagiert nun das Plugin und gibt aus, wo das Keyword gefunden wurde. In diesem Fall ist es ungen\u00fcgend.<\/p>\n

    Wenn die Seite nun gespeichert wird \u2026<\/p>\n

    \u2026 analysiert SEO by Yoast automatisch und spuckt L\u00f6sungsans\u00e4tze aus. Okay, es gibt mehr Farben als blo\u00df gr\u00fcn und rot. Momentan leuchtet das L\u00e4mpchen orange. Wir verbessern uns! Positiv: Wenigstens dieser \u00e4u\u00dferst wichtige Teil ist komplett \u00fcbersetzt. Merci!<\/p>\n

    Die Analyse ist eine wunderbare Checkliste. Auch f\u00fcr Personen mit Erfahrung im Bereich SEO, die vielleicht sogar Auszeichnungen wie den legend\u00e4ren Titel des SEO-Kanzlers vorweisen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

    Im Bereich \u00bbErweitert\u00ab werden diverse Einstellungen der Robots.txt und Sitemap speziell f\u00fcr diese Seite sowie die Urheberschaft (rel=\u201cauthor\u201c), die Canonical-URL und eine 301-Weiterleitung aufgef\u00fchrt. Was genau Ihr mit diesen Optionen anfange k\u00f6nnt? Hier ein paar Beispiele:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • txt: Damit l\u00e4sst sich das Indexierungsverhalten von Suchmaschinen steuern. Wird der Wert auf \u00bbnoindex\u00ab gesetzt, erscheint die Seite nicht in den Suchergebnissen.<\/li>\n
    • Sitemap: Das ist eine Liste aller Seiten, die unsere Internetpr\u00e4senz zu bieten hat. Durch die \u00dcbermittlung der Sitemap an eine Suchmaschine k\u00f6nnen die gelisteten Seiten schneller erfasst und indexiert werden.<\/li>\n
    • Durch den Author-Tag rel=\u201cauthor\u201c in den Meta-Daten l\u00e4sst sich das Profil von Google+ des Autors mit der Seite verlinken. So wei\u00df Google, welche Person diesen Artikel geschrieben hat.<\/li>\n
    • Sollte die Seite unter mehreren URLs ansprechbar sein (z. B. mit und ohne www.), lassen sich mit dem Canonical-Tag Suchmaschinen auf die Hauptadresse einer Seite verweisen. Das verhindert doppelte Inhalte.<\/li>\n
    • Mit 301-Weiterleitungen oder \u00bbpermanent Redirects\u00ab kann eine Seite elegant auf eine andere weitergeleitet werden. Zum Beispiel, wenn es diese Seite nicht mehr gibt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Unter dem Reiter \u00bbSocial\u00ab<\/em> k\u00f6nnt Ihr die Meta-Beschreibung\u00a0 bei Bedarf individuell anpassen, wenn Ihr den Beitrag auf Facebook oder Google+ teilen m\u00f6chtet. F\u00fcr Facebook k\u00f6nnt Ihr hier zudem ein eigenes Vorschau-Bild ausw\u00e4hlen.<\/p>\n

      Fazit<\/h2>\n

      Das bekannte und beliebte Plugin SEO by Yoast ist kostenlos und bietet viele Features. Dank der Hinweise, Meldungen und L\u00f6sungsans\u00e4tze kann sich ein Laie die Optimierung seiner Seite angehen. Wer mehr will, muss zwar bezahlen, daf\u00fcr gibt es schon eine Menge kostenlos.<\/p>\n
